Actor Lakshmi Manchu has tested positive for COVID-19. The actor, who is the daughter of veteran actor Mohan Babu took to her Instagram handle to inform her followers of her diagnosis.

"They say don't run from your fears, attack them..well that didn't turn out so well for me. After playing hide and seek for two years... And screaming 'Go corona go', COVID-19 has finally caught me. I did give it a good fight but it had other plans. I am taking all the necessary precautions to get out of its clutches. PSA to all- Let's stay at home, stay safe and mask up," the post read.

In the caption, she asked people to take care of their health and also get vaccinated at the earliest. "It's going to affect everybody and get all of us just like a common cold. What we need to do is take care of our immunity and make sure our bodies are strong enough to fight the virus. So don't forget to take your vitamins and keep your mind and body in check. Don't forget to GET VACCINATED and if you are double vaccinated, find the best booster for you,” she wrote.

She also asked her followers to suggest their top shows and podcasts which she can watch during her isolation period. Taking to the comment section, actor Rakul Preet Singh wrote, "Watch Succession".

Meanwhile, India is seeing a massive surge in COVID-19 cases with the trends indicating a third wave of the pandemic in the country. On Thursday, India registered over 1 lakh positive cases. With an alarming rise in the cases, several state governments have announced strict restrictions and implemented partial lockdown.
