The tide has shifted, and the waves of anticipation are higher than ever, as fans are excited to see Jr NTR return to the theatres as the solo lead after six years. While the actor is going all out to promote the massy action entertainer, he recently joined hands with Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt in a never-seen-before panel discussion that not only talks about his release Devara: Part 1 but also about the actress’ film Jigra in the panel aptly titled Devara ka Jigra. In a moment of profound insight, during the discussion, moderated by Karan, Jr. NTR revealed why Devara would now sail with two parts instead of one.

Giving audiences a rare peek behind the cinematic curtains, Devara Ka Jigra aimed at showcasing interesting and unique aspects that both films explored. Launching into the story of how it all started for Devara, Jr NTR said, “We never thought that we are going to make this movie in two parts. I said, 'Siva don't stop just keep writing' because there are so many characters.”

The decision to split the film wasn’t made lightly. According to Jr NTR, as the team dove deeper into the storyline, the layers of emotion, action, and drama kept unfolding. He revealed, “There some characters which we couldn't stop developing. So woh develop hote gaya hote gaya (continued and continued)... By the time we finished our first half, we already got in five hours.”

He added, “Because we didn't realise, we just fell in love with that movie. I was like 'No, we need to check ourselves, stop it. Let's write our story, let's finish our story. Let's see where, how and what we can cut, chuck or redevelop.' It was a very conscious decision (to have Part 2).”

Devara: Part 1 is expected to feature Jr NTR in a double role along with Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady and features Saif Ali Khan in shades of grey. The film is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, with presentation by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. It is set for release on September 27, 2024 in multiple languages including Hindi.
