Emerging as a cinematic milestone, the upcoming sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD stands out with its exceptional visual and technical vision, complemented by groundbreaking promotional campaigns. Currently garnering widespread acclaim for its fifth hero and futuristic vehicle, ‘Bujji’, happens to be Prabhas’s character Bhairava’s best friend in the film. A revolutionary creation from the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, the futuristic vehicle has been created from scratch by some of the smartest minds globally. Acclaimed award-winning international concept designer Haisu Wang has lent his expertise to ‘Bujji’ as its concept designer, showcasing the makers’ commitment to bringing the best of the world to Indian cinema.
Globally celebrated for his contribution to Avengers: Endgame (2019), The Batman (2022), Avatar Sequels (2,3,4,) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), The Batman: Batmobile and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), Haisu Wang’s extensive experience in international blockbuster films brings a unique creative vision to ‘Bujji’, while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.
Opening up about his experience of working on ‘Bujji’, Haisu Wang shared a picture of the futuristic vehicle on his social media handle and wrote, “Incredible engineering work. Not often to see a hubless wheel vehicle driving on the road (and off-road!) Glad to be the concept designer of ‘Bujji’ A vehicle and character from Kalki 2898 AD. Thanks Nag Ashwin and Priyanka Dutt Chalasani for offering this opportunity to work with the talented filmmakers in India.”
Interestingly, the creation of ‘Bujji’ began when Director Nag Ashwin tweeted to Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra. In response, Anand Mahindra activated his team and connected the filmmaker with Jayem Automotives in Coimbatore, to together bring this futuristic vehicle to life.
Featuring an ensemble star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in key roles, Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. A multilingual, mythology-inspired sci-fi spectacle set in the future, the film hits the screens on 27th June 2024.
