K.G.F: Chapter 2 starring Yash is all set to release on April 14, and early bookings indicate it is going well. KGF's plot revolves around an anti-ascension hero's journey through the ruthless world of crime and smuggling. The film has been compared to a number of Bollywood films starring Amitabh Bachchan from the 1970s and 1980s. Yash addressed the comparisons in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama.

Rocky (Yash) is the franchise's protagonist, a smuggler who wants to take over the gold mining empire of Kolar Gold Fields. Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and Prakash Raj also appear. The film has been compared to other Amitabh Bachchan anti-hero films such as Deewar, Shakti, and Agneepath. In the interview, a fan recently asked Yash which Amitabh Bachchan film he would adapt and the actor said, “Personally, I loathe remakes and would prefer not to get involved with Mr Bachchan. They are classics that stand the test of time. I doubt I'd do anything to help him keep his job.”

When asked whether K.G.F is influenced in certain respects by Amitabh Bachchan's persona, Yash remarked, “This style of film captures the hero's heroism and the essence of the belief system. It has nothing to do with any particular film, but the heart of the films they used to make is the same, and it is exactly what the entire country of India wants to see. At the very least, everyone I meet seems to enjoy these kinds of flicks.”

Prashanth Neel, who also directed the first film, directed KGF: Chapter 2. The film releases on April 14.
