Chiyaan Vikram gets a special birthday present from Thangalaan team; makers share BTS video

Thangalaan marks the first film of Vikram which will also release in Odia, Bengali, and Marathi.

Not too long ago we had reported that Thangalaan has captured a lot of attention owing to its gripping teaser of the film. Set against the backdrop of 19th century, the film will feature Chiyaan Vikram in a completely different avatar. After playing the reigning heir to the throne of Chola Empire, Vikram will now play a tribal in this forthcoming Pa Ranjith directorial. On the occasion of his birthday, makers of the film decided to make it special for his fans by releasing a BTS video of what went behind creating the character of Thangalaan.

With curiosity rising among fans after seeing the first look of the actor from Thangalaan, the makers have released a powerful video showing some glimpses from the making of the film, including portions where they are helping the actor get his look right for the film. The footage has added further to the anticipation. They shared a special birthday post on his birthday by introducing the audience to the BTS video, along with a caption saying, “Power, struggle, vengeance and liberation run deeper than the mines in the world of Thangalaan?? Here's the Grand Making visual as a tribute to #Chiyaan. Presenting you a slice of flesh from Thangalaan.”

Coming to the casting, Thangalaan features popular actresses Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan as the female leads whereas Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone, known for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, has been roped in to play an important role in the film. The others in the ensemble include Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Preethi Karan and Muthukumar.

A. Kishore is handling the cinematography and GV Prakash Kumar is composing music. Tamizh Prabha is the co-writer of this film and art department is handled by S.S. Moorthy. R.K. Selva (Editing) and Stunts co-ordinator Sam form an essential of the film’s crew.

Thangalaan is in the final stages of shooting. It has been crafted and materialized as an action entertainer and is produced Studio Green i.e. K.E. Gnanavel Raja in association with Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions and we hear that it is being created on a whopping budget.

As for the story, it is period drama that revolves around the locals of the Kolar Gold Field (KGF). Thangalaan is one of the Pan India films that will not only release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, but also in Odia, Marathi and Bengali languages.
