Malayalam film megastar Mammootty completed 50 glorious years in the film industry today. The actor made his acting debut in 1971 with the film Anubhavangal Paalichakal. Well-wishers and fans of the actor took to social media to mark this occasion and congratulate the National-Award winning actor.

Actor Mohanlal also took to social media to mark the occasion and congratulate his ‘brother’ and co-star of 55 films for completing a half-century in the movie business. Sharing a throwback picture of the two where Mohanlal is seen giving Mammooty a peck on the cheek, the Lucifer actor wrote, "Today, my brother completes 50 glorious years in the film industry. I feel so proud to have shared the screen with him in 55 memorable films and looking forward to many more. Congratulations Ichakka! @mammukka".

Meanwhile, Prithviraj who shares a great bond with Mammootty offscreen and has shared screen with the megastar on multiple occasions also took to social media to congratulate on the half-century. Sharing a picture from their hit film Pokkiriraja where the two played brothers, Prithviraj wrote, "50 years of absolute commitment to the craft and medium! Half a century of one of world cinema’s greats! @mammootty (sic)."

Meanwhile, Mammootty was last seen in the film One which was released on Netflix. He has given countless hits in the last fifty years in various Indian languages. He is currently waiting to resume work on his upcoming film Bheesham Parvam.
