Hugh Jackman teases rivalry between Wolverine and Deadpool in Deadpool 3 - “We’re opposites, hate each other”

Hugh Jackman is spilling beans on the relationship between two fan-favorite superheroes Wolverine and Deadpool, who are going to have a much-awaited crossover in Marvel’s upcoming Deadpool 3.

“How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other,” he said on The Empire Film Podcast, according to Deadline. “I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head.”

“Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot,” he added. Jackman recently also talked about how the makers were able to bring back Wolverine into the picture and integrating him into the MCU without messing the Logan timeline.

“All because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines, now we can go back because, you know, it’s science, so I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too,” Jackman had shared. Additionally, Logan’s director James Mangold also previously wrote on the matter and shared that he has zero concerns about the impact of his film being affected.

“Oh my gosh! Everybody chill,” he wrote on Twitter. “Just kidding! I’m all good! Logan will always be there. Multiverse or prequel, time warp or wormhole, canon or non-canon or even without a rationale, I cannot wait to see what madness my dear friends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman cook up!” Well, it’ll certainly be interesting to see how the two beloved characters end up becoming a crucial component within the MCU’s multiversal saga.

Deadpool 3 begins production in May 2023 and opens in theaters on November 8, 2024.
