Based on George R. R. Martin's book “Fire & Blood”, House of the Dragon has captivated audiences with its compelling storytelling and stunning visuals, solidifying its place as a cult favourite series for fantasy enthusiasts. Set to premiere on JioCinema on June 16, 2024, the series’ trailer was unveiled by HBO Max on Thursday which gives a glimpse of Team Black vs Team Green.

However, not just one, two trailers were unveiled showcasing the point of view of Team Black and Team Green. The trailer focusing on Black showcases Rhaenrya Targaryen, and Daemon Targaryen bringing together their forces of Dragonstone to avenge the death of Lucerys, and the other is centered on the King’s Landing ‘s Team Green featuring Alicent Hightower, her father Otto Hightower and her children King Aegon and Prince Aemond as they prepare to fight back for the Iron throne.

Following the coronation of King Aegon II and the tragic demise of Lucerys Targaryen, House of the Dragon season 2 delves into the heart of Westeros as the legendary 'Dance of the Dragons' unfolds. With factions divided between the 'Greens' and the 'Blacks,' viewers will witness the tumultuous struggle for power and supremacy. As supporters of Alicent and Viserys's son, Aegon II, attempt to assert control over the realm from the seat of power in King's Landing, tensions rise amidst the absence of effective leadership.

Meanwhile, Rhaenyra's Black Council grapples with strategic decisions and moral dilemmas following the tragic loss at Dragonstone. While both factions reminisce about their former camaraderie, the relentless momentum of war pushes them towards irreconcilable conflict, even within their own ranks. With the stakes higher than ever and alliances hanging by a thread, House of the Dragon season 2 promises an epic narrative filled with political intrigue, breathtaking battles, and the indomitable spirit of dragons.

A bunch of new actors will join the second season who will play notable book characters from George R.R. Martin's “Fire and Blood”. They include Clinton Liberty who will essay the role of Addam of Hull; Jamie Kenna takes on the role of Ser Alfred Broome; Kieran Bew will play Hugh; Tom Bennett will be playing Ulf; Vincent Regan will play Ser Rickard Thorne and Tom Taylor is on board to play Lord Cregan Stark.

Season 1 had 10 episodes narrating the turbulent story of the House of Targaryen, set 200 years before the events that captivated global audiences in Game of Thrones. The series is a gripping saga that takes us deep into the extraordinary world of Westeros and explores the Targaryen family - the all-powerful dragon riders who are the seemingly invincible rulers of the seven kingdoms.
