en Bollywood News Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright aka Ginni Weasley reveals she was ‘disappointed’ with her screentime in the movies

Bonnie Wright essayed the role of Ginni Weasley who eventually gets married to Harry Potter as per the J.K. Rowling novel series.

Harry Potter, the fantasy novel series, written by J.K. Rowling, which was later adapted into a film format revolved around a unique world of magic with Harry Potter as the primary character whereas Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley were created as the parallel characters who helped Harry in his adventure and his battles. Along with them, Harry also received a lot of support from Ginni Weasley, a role essayed by Bonnie Wright.

Although the character of Ginni Weasley was flushed out a little in the book, the movie rarely featured Bonnie Wright. While she did play small, supporting roles in the first and second movie of the Harry Potter series, later, until the fifth instalment of the film, her screen time was far and few. In a podcast titled Inside of You, Bonnie addressed the less screentime she received in the J.K. Rowling film adaptation as she said, “Sometimes that was a little disappointing because there were parts of the character that just didn't get to come through because there weren't the scenes to do that. That made me feel a bit anxious or just frustrated, I guess.”

In the same podcast, the actress also revealed that considering the length of the book, in comparison to a movie was a lot, due to which many of her scenes were chopped during the editing process. Bonnie believed that low screentime didn’t do justice to a character like Ginni Weasley. “So that (doing justice to the character) was always hard to do, especially when, inevitably, a lot of the scenes of every character were chopped down from the book to the film. So you didn't really have as much to show in the film,” she added.

For the unversed, the character of Ginni Weasley did play a pivotal role in the final battle of Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Eventually, Potter ended up marrying her and in the climax of the final instalment we see the couple bidding goodbye to their sons James Sirius Potter and Albus Severus Potter as they are gearing up to kick start their journey in Hogwarts. The couple also have a daughter named Lily Luna Potter.
