Greta Gerwig’s Barbie to unveil first-look trailer ahead of screening James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water

After IMAX shows of Avatar: The Way of Water offered a four-minute featurette on Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, the sequel will now reportedly offer first look at Greta Gerwig's upcoming Barbie!

Greta Gerwig's upcoming masterpiece offered its first look trailer ahead of the screening of The Way of Water featuring Margot Robbie as the iconic character based on the Mattel doll, and Ryan Gosling as her other half, Ken.

According to Just Jared tabloid, the Barbie trailer opens with Robbie wearing the iconic black and white swimsuit that was worn by the first-ever Barbie doll. She’s standing on the beach and towers over the beachgoers.

As the outlet shares, Barbie winks at a little girl, who slams her baby dolls into the ground. The girl throws the doll into the air and the Barbie title card is shown. The trailer then continues to give quick glimpses of the Barbie world, including sneak peeks at Ryan Gosling's Ken and Simu Liu having a dance-off with Barbie.

Besides Robbie, Gosling and Liu, Barbie features an ensemble cast of America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae and Michael Cera, while Will Ferrell has also signed on as the CEO of Mattel and believed to play the antagonist for the film.

Written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, Barbie releases on July 21, 2023. Meanwhile, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water is now playing in theaters.
