Warner Bros. Pictures announced that the next feature film from Oscar-winning writer, director, and producer Bong Joon Ho will release in theatres around the world on March 29, 2024. The film, Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson is currently in production and is directed, produced and scripted by the filmmaker; it is based on the novel entitled "Mickey 7" by Edward Ashton.
Robert Pattinson stars in the title role, alongside Oscar nominee Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Oscar nominee Toni Collette, and Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo. The first teaser was also unveiled on Monday of the upcoming sci-fi movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project will be based on “Mickey7”, a forthcoming novel from author Edward Ashton. Mickey7 is described as Andy Wier’s The Martian meets Blake Crouch’s Dark Matter. It centres on Mickey7, a man on an expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. This expendable employee takes jobs too risky for anyone else, and when he dies, he regenerates as a clone with most of his memories intact. When Mickey7 is presumed dead, he returns to the mission’s base only to see that a new clone, Mickey8, has taken his place.
The film is produced by Plan B Entertainment, Dooho Choi of Kate Street Picture Company, and Bong Joon Ho under his Offscreen, Inc. banner. The behind-the-camera creative team includes Oscar-nominated director of photography Darius Khondji, Oscar-nominated production designer Fiona Crombie, Oscar-nominated editor Jinmo Yang, costume designer Catherine George and visual effects supervisor Dan Glass (“The Matrix” franchise). The music is by composer Jae-il Jung.
Mickey 17 will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
