The Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bahrucha and Sunny Singh starrer Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety released last week on Friday. Directed by Luv Ranjan the film has been doing brisk business at the box office. After posting surprisingly good figures over its opening weekend the business of the film registered another Rs. 5.17 cr coming in on its first Monday. Going by the current trend the film has fast turned into the first massive success story of 2018. Talking about what has worked for the film, the producer of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhushan Kumar says, “The youth connect that Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has is what is working for the film”.

Further detailing his views the T-Series head honcho adds, “The thing with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is that the story is very relatable and it has developed a rapport with the youth who have managed to identify with the characters of the film. This relatability of the film that the audience has felt has gone a long way in boosting collections.” Echoing a similar note, the film’s director Luv Ranjan adds, “The film has managed to connect with the youth of today, in fact they identify with the character on screen somewhere and that has what has endeared the film to the audience”.

Later expressing his views and thoughts before the release of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhushan Kumar adds, “If you make a film based on the youth that appeals and relates to the youth, you are sure to succeed.”

Another point that has worked in favour of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is the music of the film. States Kumar, “Luv is a brilliant director and is perfect at capturing a story that revolves around the youth. Now coupled with that since we came on board we looked into the music of the film and have helped develop a score that enhances the overall appeal of the film for the viewer. The good music and of course the film together have managed to work well”.

While we can’t deny the fact that both Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan have certainly hit it off, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that despite facing competition from previous releases and the Sonakshi Sinha – Diljit Dosanjh starrer Welcome To New York that released alongside it, has managed to hold its own. Now all that remains to be seen is whether the film manages to become one of the highest grossers of the year.
