Kritika Bharadwaj has captivated audiences with her impressive performance in her theatrical debut, the action thriller film Yodha. Bharadwaj takes on the role of Tanya Sharma, a spirited trainee pilot, opposite Bollywood heartthrob Sidharth Malhotra.
In Yodha, Bharadwaj's character Tanya finds herself in a high-stakes situation onboard an airplane. Despite her cool exterior, Tanya's directness proves to be a valuable asset as she assists Malhotra's character in saving lives and ensuring a safe landing.
Bharadwaj's path to securing the role of Tanya Sharma was a testament to her dedication. After auditioning in June 2021, she underwent a rigorous selection process overseen by directors Sagar and Pushkar. Reflecting on her experience, Bharadwaj shares, "I was a bit nervous on set, not only because of working with esteemed actors but also embodying the role of a pilot. Sagar helped me prepare by engaging me with games around plane simulations and learning technical terms, which proved invaluable during filming."
Speaking about working alongside Sidharth Malhotra, Bharadwaj says, "Being on set with Sidharth Malhotra was an absolute delight. Despite initial jitters, Sidharth's warmth and easygoing nature instantly put me at ease. We quickly developed a great rapport, and it was evident that our on-screen chemistry was something special. Collaborating with him felt seamless, and we had a lot of fun bringing our characters to life together."
Directed by the dynamic duo Sagar and Pushkar, Yodha boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, Raashii Khanna, and Sunny Hinduja. The film, produced by industry veterans Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan, follows the captivating story of special task force officer Arun Katyal's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation from terrorist threats.
