The Amazon Prime Video event was a memorable one for multiple reasons. The streaming giant announced nearly 40 titles; while a few of them were expected, there were many surprises. One such unexpected announcement was The Rana Connection, a chat show hosted by Rana Daggubati. Rana graced the event and his banter with the OG chat show host, Karan Johar, was a major highlight.
When asked why Rana got into this space, he told Karan Johar, “I saw you making money consistently!”
Rana Daggubati continued with the fun, “Let’s do Karan Johar’s rapid fire on Karan Johar!”
The session began. Rana’s first question was, “Which one of your kids do you like more?” A shocked KJo asked, “Between Yash and Roohi?” Rana clarified, “No, between Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan!” Karan replied, “I’ll say Alia. It’s a much safer answer!”
Rana Daggubati then asked, “One celebrity who is better at fashion than you?” Karan Johar said, “Ranveer Singh, when he wears all his clothes!”
This was followed by, “What’s the one thing that’s not loved in a Karan Johar party?” KJo raised laughs as he said, “Taking a video!” It was an obvious reference to the infamous video clip from his bash, involving several celebs. It went viral due to allegations that the actors in the party were having drugs.
Rana Daggubati’s last question was, “One tip to be awesome at a talk show?” Karan Johar revealed, “Just get the guest on. It’s very tough at coordinating dates. If you can get them for three hours without any frills, fuss and fancies and their entourage doesn’t sit on your head and their managers don’t go onto your nerves, you are in a good place!”
