In a recent interview, acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj revealed that his 2009 film Kaminey was a success despite on-set conflicts. The film, which starred Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Amole Gupte, was a critical success and is considered to be one of Bhardwaj's best works.

Speaking on the YouTube channel Unfiltered by Samdish, Bhardwaj said, “While making a film, you get to know. But one or two times I was wrong when I thought the film wouldn’t (work) but it worked. This was the case with Kaminey. While making the film, I was feeling like how will we do this.”

He further added, “There was so much conflict between the Director of Photography (DOP) and the cast, between DOP and the production and between the production designer and the production. It was chaos of some another level. Every day after reaching the set for an hour and a half, I had to see what is the new problem of this day.”

Kaminey is a crime thriller film that tells the story of twin brothers, one with a lisp and the other with a stutter, who get caught up in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the Mumbai underworld. The film was praised for its sharp writing, stylish direction, and strong performances. It starred Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Amole Gupte.

Bhardwaj's latest film, Khufiya, was released on Netflix recently. The film is an espionage thriller starring Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
