The controversy surrounding The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond has intensified after producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah publicly addressed claims made by former director Sudipto Sen regarding the sequel’s research and direction.

In a strong response to Sen’s remarks, Shah revealed why the filmmaker is no longer associated with the project. He said, “He had written a script about The Kerala Story 2, which was absolute trash. And I did not want to make that film…”

Shah further dismissed Sen’s criticism about the film’s research, stating that the former director was not involved in the groundwork for the sequel. Refuting the allegation that the film was based on “WhatsApp forwards,” Shah said Sen “doesn’t even know what research we have done.”

Calling the accusations unfounded, Shah described them as “baseless” and termed them “sour grapes,” suggesting that the remarks stem from disappointment rather than facts.

Addressing concerns around certification and legal scrutiny, Shah clarified that the film had been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification before any court cases surfaced, adding that the legal developments did not influence the certification process.

Despite the ongoing dispute, The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond continues its theatrical run and has reportedly performed steadily at the box office, even as debates around the film persist.

The public exchange between Shah and Sen has added another layer of attention to the sequel, keeping the film firmly in headlines amid its release.
