Varun Dhawan lauds Vikrant Massey, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and others in his review of 12th Fail 12 : Bollywood News

It seems that the movie 12th Fail has been winning hearts across the film industry. The Vidhu Vinod Chopra production based on the life of Indian Police Service officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, features Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar as the leads. And it seems along with the script and storyline, it is also their performances which are receiving a lot of appreciation. The recent celebrity to go gaga over this biographical drama is Varun Dhawan.

Varun Dhawan took to social media to express his appreciation for the film and couldn’t stop gushing about it and the performances. He shared his review on the Instagram story by posting a photo of the film’s poster and added, “This film has to be one of the most beautiful films I have seen in a long long time thank you for this @medhashankr @vidhuvinodchoprafilms @vikrantmassey kya baat hai. Yaar” and concluded it with a clapping hands emoji.

Speaking of 12th Fail, the film features Vikrant Massey as Manoj Kumar Sharma and it is directed, produced and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak, the film traces the journey of Manoj Sharma from his days in extreme poverty to becoming an Indian Police Service aka IPS officer. The film stars Medha Shankar as the female lead and the real-life wife of Manoj Kumar, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi Sharma. Apart from them, the film also has Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee playing pivotal roles.

While the film released theatrically on October 27, 2023, it received immense critical acclaim and was declared as a sleeper hit. Later, the film also premiered on the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar from December 29 onwards. At the 69th Filmfare Awards, the film received 12 nominations, including Best Film and Best Director.
