Taha Shah Badussha, who was also a part of Taj: Divided by Blood, is all set to mesmerize audiences with his portrayal of Tajdar in the highly anticipated series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The web-series, which also marks the foray of Sanjay Leela Bhansali into web-series, boasts of an extensive ensemble cast where Taha is paired up with SLB’s niece and actress Sharmin Segal. While the trailer was unveiled along with the entire cast, Taha shared an interesting tid bit about his role.

At the recent trailer launch of Heeramandi, Taha opened up about how his part was initially intended for just 3 days but later, his role was extended for much more in the series. "I have gotten this character after giving a lot of auditions. Since the last 12 years I have worked hard to get here, and now working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir is like a dream come true. I feel that Tajdar and me have a lot of resemblance. I resonate with the character. He yearns for love. He sees everything through the lenses of kindness and tries not to step over people. That's the kind of personality he has. When I had first been approached for this role, I had just been given a 3 day part. I had signed the contract for that as well, but maybe Sanjay Sir saw something in me and decided to extend my part in the series to a lot more than it was originally planned."

Taha's look as Tajdar is quite regal as it reminds you of a royal, educated, and classy man from the 1940s.

Heeramandi will star Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal in key roles along with Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and Fardeen Khan in essaying supporting characters. The show will premiere on Netflix on May 1.
