The month of February was a busy one in the Korean music world! With one stunning release after another, almost every day brought something new for the listeners. Taeyeon and Apink made their much awaited comeback; Treasure gave a trap-hiphop music treat whereas groups like Rocket Punch, Rumble-G and Craxy showcased their versatility once again! Let's take a look at some of the stunning K-pop releases of February 2022.

VIXX’s RAVI - WINNER (ft. ASH ISLAND)
RAVI made a stellar comeback with 'Winner'. The song is a semi-rock number with high octane energy. RAVI and Ash Island complement each other beautifully with their rap verses. There is a sense of urgency in the singing that pumps the energy.

GIRLS’ GENERATION’s TAEYEON – INVU
'INVU' is a sensual track. The hook is an instant earworm. The synth- bass beats accentuate the craziness in the lyrics. Taeyeon spins a web of musical magic with her soulful singing.

JAMIE – PITY PARTY
The single starts off with a catchy and disco-like beat before a dynamic chorus gets listeners up on their feet and dancing. 'Pity Party' by Jamie is a funky party number through and through. The retro guitar strums reverberate throughout the song casting a hip vibe. She sings with a notorious charm.

DAY6’ WONPIL – VOICELESS
Wonpil makes a stunning solo debut with 'Voiceless'. The song is a classic ballad with minimal instruments which serve their purpose of highlighting Wonpil's emotion-filled singing. The music gives out a retro jazzy vibe.

APINK – DILEMMA
'Dilemma' is a funky pop song. Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated comebacks of February; Apink delivered a musical treat for the fans. The electro synth beats in 'Dilemma' make it a perfect song as a disco dance track.

EPIK HIGH - GRAY SO GRAY (Feat. Younha)

Despite giving the vibe of a heartbreak song, ‘Gray So Gray’ is much more than the romance. It is an honest confession of the way someone has become. It encapsulates the raw and vulnerable feelings that are not easy to confess. Younha’s soft vocals accentuate the feeling of love lost whereas Tablo and Mithra Jin use rap and vocal verses to further the sentiment. The guitar strings and synth beats cast a soft yet sad glow in the song. The sentiment of self loathing is expressed vividly with lyrics like – “It's just that the world made me swallow countless thorns / And as I tried to push them out of my body / I became a cactus.” The Korean and English titles of the song are a good case of wordplay, and both express an emotion in the song. The Korean translates to a feeling of failure of change, and simply accepting things as they are, whereas the English title colors the feelings which that failure brings.

ROCKET PUNCH – CHIQUITA
'Chiquita' is a 80s inspired retro track that speaks about basking in the yellow glow of the spotlight. The song is packed with energy and pomp which urges the listener to tap their feet. The vocals are stunning and showcase the group's strengths in a stunning fashion.

VIVIZ - BOP BOP!
'Bop Bop' begins with soft and sweet notes and soon transcends to funky party pop track. The vocals are smooth, matching the tempo of the music. The music gives retro disco vibes, with generous dash of foot tapping moments.

CRAXY – DANCE WITH GOD
'Dance with God' is a hard-hitting semi rock and hip-hop number. The song is a like a power-packed war anthem and justifies its title 'Dance with God' for it feels nothing less than one. CRAXY delivered a promising music piece once again, thus raising anticipation for their artistry.

TREASURE - JIKJIN
Treasure is back and how! 'Jikjin' is the perfect hip-hop and trap number for the lovers of the genre. The group put their best foot forward once again, and delivered a stunning piece of music. There is a mix of genres like trap, hip-hop, pop and semi-rock which makes 'Jikjin' an interesting listen!
