Readers may recall that Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Fighter has landed a U/A certification after two cuts, one involving "sexually suggested visuals." Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that this follows director Siddharth Anand’s previous experience with Pathaan, which also underwent edits to comply with CBFC guidelines.

However, Anand remains unfazed by the trimming process, emphasising the organic nature of his storytelling and his respect for the censor board's regulations. "Everything is very organic in my films," Anand shared in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha. "Sometimes, you do things that you feel are working at the moment. But the Censor Board operates on certain guidelines, and we have to accept that."

While remaining tight-lipped about the specific scenes removed, Anand revealed that the cuts primarily affected the closing song video, not impacting the narrative itself. "We've graciously accepted those cuts, and they won't change the story at all. What has been cut is in the end credits, so those shots weren't that important," he explained.

Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, has generated significant buzz since the release of its action-packed trailer. However, some viewers have drawn comparisons between the film's stunts to those seen in Tom Cruise's Top Gun. Anand, however, welcomes the comparisons. "I take it as a compliment," he stated. "Top Gun is an iconic film and brand. If these comparisons are happening, it means that the two worlds are getting compared."

Fighter is poised for a theatrical release on January 25, 2024, promising an adrenaline-pumping experience for fans eagerly awaiting its arrival.
