Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has opened up about a painful rejection early in his career that left a lasting impact, and even influenced him to shave his head, ahead of the release of his upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Siddhant recalled auditioning for a film and making it through multiple rounds, including workshops. He said the director and casting team were impressed with his performance, and he genuinely believed he was close to being finalised. However, after months of effort, he was ultimately rejected. Siddhant shared that he later came to know the reason behind it and quoted what he was told: “Curly baal wale hero nahi bante.”
The actor said the comment stayed with him and made him question whether he needed to change himself to fit into the industry’s expectations. He revealed that he even tried straightening his hair, hoping it would help him secure the role. But the outcome remained the same. Siddhant recalled being told that even his straightened hair was not acceptable, as it was now “too straight.”
The entire experience frustrated him and affected him emotionally. Speaking about how strongly it hit him, Siddhant said, “I was so upset that I went home and shaved my head.” The actor added that his mother loved his curly hair, which made the decision even more personal, but at that moment, he reacted out of disappointment and anger.
Siddhant also reflected on how he has now come to embrace his natural look again, pointing out that his curls are visible in the promotional poster of his upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, a romantic drama co-starring Mrunal Thakur. The film is directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and is scheduled to release in theatres on February 20, 2026.
