Shilpa Shetty has addressed long standing rumours about her marriage to Raj Kundra, specifically, the notion that she married him for his wealth. In a recent interview with Zoom, the actress firmly denied these claims.

Shetty acknowledged her husband's financial success but stated that her own achievements were often overlooked. She jokingly pointed out, "People forgot to Google Shilpa Shetty, who was also very rich back then. Today, I'm even richer."

The Dhadkan actress went on to explain that financial compatibility is important in marriage, but not the sole factor. She stated, "When you're successful, you want to have a man who's not going insecure... and you have to marry someone who's going to be able to afford your lifestyle."

However, the Main Khiladi Tu Anari actress made it clear that Raj's character ultimately won her heart. "When I married him, coincidentally, he was well placed and I think god wanted us to be together and things worked out, but the reason I got married to him was because he is extremely charming and lovable. All my friends have become friends of Raj. Now they’ve all shifted loyalties because Raj is like the life of every party and he’s just likeable.”

Shilpa and Raj Kundra tied the knot in 2009 and have since built a life together. The couple currently has two children. Speaking of the professional front, the 48-year-old actress was last seen in Sukhee.
