Manish Malhotra, who completed 31 glorious years in the world of fashion, showcased DIFFUSE, a new segment, under his eponymous label at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week on the 25th of March 2022, presented by Ajio Luxe. In an ever-changing algorithm of trends, the couturier’s future proves luxury with his bridge line to cater to the screen-scrolling cohorts. The resurgence of wild, fun, noteworthy vibrant colors and dynamic textures give an extra edge to every stylized design. The line is consciously priced for the youth demographic.

The 'F' in fashion stands for fun, and Manish Malhotra hits the nail on stage with every eccentric print! When the looks logged in and out of the runway, they got screenshotted and saved to the minds of many. The color palette revolves around a galaxy of blacks, reds, pinks, purples, blues, greys, and gradients. An eclectic mix of music raved to the high spirit of 'back to normalcy’ post the pandemic. The comprehensive line paid heed to keen lovers of all that quirk and sass with a portion of the designer's classic glamour yet allowing for some self-expression, making every outfit special and celebratory.

Upcoming Bollywood actress Shanaya Kapoor was the showstopper and made her ramp debut alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi for the collection. New definitions of traditions paved the way to the forefront of Manish Malhotra's show. In with the new - Separates like Bomber jackets, embossed ensembles, breezy kaftans, balloon pants with vests, bedazzled long fringe top, hand pained skirt, blazer dress, baggy oversized vibes, feather rimmed sarees, jackets with sharara, tube tops with gararas, pantsuits, sarong saree, and the brand's signature sequins saree refined for Diffuse, all styled in bijoux layered bags, and duffle bags, chunky bijoux accessories and expressive makeup.

Shanaya expressed her joy after the show saying, “Manish is the best of the best. I was very excited, the second he called me I was like, this is actually happening! Making my ramp walk debut for Manish, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Just walking on the ramp was exciting, very thrilling. I am just looking forward to walking for Manish in the future. I love all his pieces. I feel Diffuse represents my style very well. There is so much detailing in what I am wearing today, but it’s so fresh, young, and vibrant.”

Siddhant too was excited to be on the ramp and also shared a time when he was rejected once. He said, “I remember, when I used to go for auditions, back in the day, there used to be modelling auditions as well. I knew how to act, but I didn’t know how to walk as a model. I tried auditioning for one of those ramp events and I got rejected. I came out and said, ‘Koi baatnahi, ek din showstopper banunga’."

He thanked Manish saying, “This is a dream come true for me. It’s an honour. My first ever ramp walk at Lakme Fashion Week and that too with your collection. I am feeling very overwhelmed.”

Describing more about his outfit Siddhant added, “Talking about the clothes - this very vibrant and colourful, and very summery. During the rehearsals I was in a sweatshirt and denims. But as soon as I got this on, something happened, I did not feel nervous at all. I was just vibing with the music.”

Manish Malhotra's signature elements like metallic sequins, tassels, beads, feathers, Swarovski manifested the brand's Alter Ego.Speaking on the showcase, he said, “Diffuse invites the new generation into the world of bridge fashion.
