Actor Shanaya Kapoor has addressed conversations around age and height differences with her male co-stars, saying she does not consider them barriers to her work. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shanaya said she is driven more by the creative challenge of a role than by external perceptions.

“It’s not about proving anyone wrong… as an actor, it is all about taking that risk; that’s what excites me,” she said. Emphasising her approach to choosing projects, she added, “When I hear something new, something different, and I wonder, ‘Oh my god, am I going to be able to pull this off or not?’ that’s when I feel excited.” Shanaya further explained that unpredictability is what keeps her engaged. “If there’s even a little spark in something that feels unfamiliar, that excites me,” she told the publication, suggesting that growth lies outside comfort zones.
The actor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor, made her debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan opposite Vikrant Massey. She later appeared in Tu Yaa Main alongside Adarsh Gourav, a survival drama that required physically demanding scenes, including sequences that tested her fear of heights.
Amid online chatter dissecting on-screen pairings and physical differences, Shanaya maintained that the focus should remain on storytelling. “I can’t control opinions. I can only focus on my work,” she said, acknowledging the scrutiny that comes with being new in the industry.
With multiple projects in the pipeline, Shanaya’s comments underline a clear stance. She is prepared to take risks, regardless of age gaps, height differences or industry noise surrounding her choices.
