Karan Johar has once again turned Instagram into his personal runway — and this time, he paired his fashion-forward mirror selfies with a tongue-in-cheek poem about being single in the season of love.

Sharing a series of photos, Johar captioned the post with a self-referential rhyme: “Cold weather, warm heart… The season of love is about to start… Being single is my only season…” The filmmaker continued in a playful tone, calling Instagram “the mirror of my doomscroll soul” and joking that “Reels are now my lovers that I scroll.” He ended the note by teasing followers to complete the rhyme themselves.
The post quickly drew reactions from friends and industry colleagues. Actress Sayani Gupta responded with an “Uff,” followed by fire emojis. Producer Ektaa Kapoor called him a “gorgeous boy,” while filmmaker Farah Khan humorously asked, “R u just going to ur building elevator n clicking these??” Designer Manish Malhotra kept it brief with “Bags, jackets,” and socialite Shalini Passi wrote, “Wow.”
Actor and television host Mini Mathur offered a more elaborate response in verse. Addressing Johar directly, she praised his wardrobe — “Your winter may be cold but your wardrobe is gold” — before jokingly requesting that his jackets and Birkin find their way to her closet. She also nudged him to drop the “seasonal gloom,” reminding him that his “sunshine alone could light up a room.”
While the caption sparked conversation, it was Johar’s fashion choices that commanded attention. Across five distinct looks, he leaned into his signature blend of luxury and theatricality.

In one ensemble, Johar embraced Parisian chic with a belted grey tweed utility jacket, black wool beret and oversized frames. The highlight was a black crocodile-skin Hermès Kelly bag styled crossbody, reinforcing a monochrome, understated luxury palette.
Another look saw him opting for winter maximalism — a voluminous faux-fur bomber layered over a beige turtleneck and crisp white trousers. A tan fedora and structured Hermès Birkin messenger bag complemented the earthy tones, while yellow-tinted aviator sunglasses added a retro flourish.
Switching gears, Johar adopted a sporty graphic aesthetic with a black-and-white puffer vest over a sleek black turtleneck. A leather New York Yankees cap and a black crocodile Hermès messenger bag maintained the luxury quotient, finished with thick-framed square glasses.
He then pivoted to refined minimalism in a white double-breasted overcoat layered over a beige turtleneck and matching scarf. Yellow-tinted aviators and a tan crocodile Hermès bag punctuated the otherwise neutral palette.
The filmmaker also sported a candy-pink textured wool coat paired with a matching Gucci monogram scarf. Slouchy denim and grey sneakers softened the silhouette, while a cream Hermès Kelly bag and blue-rimmed spectacles completed the ensemble.
Beyond the fashion and playful self-commentary, Johar is currently occupied on the professional front. As the head of Dharma Productions, he is receiving responses to two recent releases from his banner — Accused, which premiered on Netflix, and the Punjabi theatrical outing Viyaah Kartaare Da. Even as he balances production responsibilities, Johar continues to treat social media as an extension of his personality — equal parts candid, curated and conscious of the audience watching.
