The trailer of Shaitaan was launched today at a fun-filled and thrilling event in Mumbai. It began with magician and mentalist Suhani Shah showing her prowess. The team of the film then came on stage, and shared interesting anecdotes.

Director Vikas Bahl was asked how he managed to cast stalwarts like Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotika. Vikas smiled as he replied, “I didn’t cast them. Ajay, Kumar ji (Kumar Mangat) and Abhishek (Abhishek Pathak) cast me in this one.”

Ajay Devgn then took over as he revealed, “When we spoke about the film, Vikas said, ‘Mujhe raat mein bahut darr lagta hai. Main horror picture dekhta bhi nahin. Banaunga kaise?’. I replied, ‘Agar darr lagta hai, you are the right person to make Shaitaan’!” Vikas added, “I don’t know how that worked out."

The director continued, "From the time we decided to do the film to casting, it took us just 5 days. Janki Bodiwala was our obvious choice to play this character. We couldn’t look anywhere else. Then we thought of approaching Maddy (R Madhavan) and check if he’d be interested to do a negative role of this proportion. When senior actors play such a negative role, they’ll have a back story. Here, there’s nothing. But he agreed and so did Jyotika. We had to chase very hard to get Aangad Maaholay on board. Then, he gave feedback on the script and was on! And 40 days later, we were on floors.”

Aangad Maaholay earlier raised laughs as he confidently and cutely shared about his experience of working on Shaitaan.

Vikas Bahl further said, “We had to shoot this film linear, which I have never done before. This is because we couldn’t miss one beat to go the next one. There was just one day when we shot one little moment, which was supposed to be shot later. We realized that it’s not working as the emotion had to flow dot by dot.”

Vikas ended his answer by quipping, “I am still not going to watch horror films!”
