Salim Khan, 90, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on the morning of February 17, 2026, after reportedly suffering a minor brain haemorrhage along with a sudden spike in blood pressure. Initial reports suggested that he had been placed on ventilator support as a precautionary measure. However, his treating physician, Dr. Jalil Parkar, later clarified that the veteran screenwriter was hemodynamically stable.

On February 18, doctors shared a detailed update on his condition. “We needed to carry out investigations, and today we performed a minor procedure. The procedure performed was a DSA by a neurosurgeon and has been accomplished successfully. He is fine and stable and has been shifted to the ICU. By tomorrow, he will be taken off the ventilator. He is doing quite well. Age is a factor, we understand,” the doctor said. The doctor further added, “He came in fully conscious and appeared fit. There was a minor brain haemorrhage, which we have managed. There is no need for surgery.”
While members of the Khan family have been seen visiting the hospital over the past few days, Shah Rukh Khan’s presence stood out, given his longstanding bond with the family. The actor shares a close personal and professional relationship not only with Salman Khan but also with his father Salim Khan and the extended family. Over the years, the two superstars have often spoken about their camaraderie and mutual respect.
In the videos circulating online, Shah Rukh Khan was seen arriving discreetly at the hospital premises, briefly acknowledging the media before heading inside. Though he did not interact with reporters, his visit has been widely appreciated by fans, who lauded the gesture on social media.
