Veteran actor Saurabh Shukla has opened up about his experience working with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan on the sets of their upcoming film King, offering a glimpse into their professional dynamic.
Speaking about the father-daughter collaboration with Siddhart Kannan, Shukla emphasised that Shah Rukh maintains a disciplined and professional atmosphere on set. “He was like a co-actor with her,” Shukla said, noting that Suhana is treated no differently from any other performer. According to him, there is no sense of hierarchy, with both actors focused entirely on their roles and the demands of the film.
Shukla also reflected on his long association with Shah Rukh, recalling their early days working together. “I worked with him in Badshah. He was a rising star then. At that time, I didn’t meet him much; we interacted only briefly. Over the years, I have met Shah Rukh at different times in different ways,” he shared.
Praising Shah Rukh’s journey, Shukla highlighted his sharp business instincts. “Shah Rukh is definitely a very good businessman, his business sense is excellent. Otherwise, it is not possible to create such an empire and hold it single-handedly. Of course, now there is an army of people, but he has created that army himself. He has great support from his family,” he said. He also underlined the ambitious scale of the project. “Seventy per cent of the film industry is in this film. Every name that is big enough, they are all there,” Shukla noted, hinting at the film’s expansive ensemble.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is expected to be a major release, marking a significant on-screen collaboration between Shah Rukh and Suhana Khan.
