While there have been many social causes that Shah Rukh Khan has supported in the past, the actor decided to take a step ahead this time. After starting Meer Foundation for women empowerment and providing extensive support to acid attack survivors, the actor now had taken time out to meet and interact with them. He even shared about it on social media and encouraged his fans to support the survivors.
Describing his interaction with the survivors, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he was impressed with their courage and applauded their bravery. The superstar posted about it on his Twitter handle saying, “All of u please put ur hands in prayer…and say Bhagwan inki zindagi ki nayi shuruaat mein…inpar karam karna…May God have mercy on them…Insha Allah. These r my sisters & need ur prayers for recovery, without distinguishing between the mode of prayer.”
His foundation too shared a collage from the interactive session with Shah Rukh Khan and also captioned the same saying, “Acid attack survivors undergoing corrective surgeries, supported by #MeerFoundation through the #ToGETherTransformed initiative to rehabilitate acid attack survivors, spent a beautiful afternoon with @iamsrk, sharing their dreams and drawing courage, together.”

Interestingly, a film too is being made on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who is currently running NGOs to protect women from similar crimes. The film titled Chhapaak, however, is being produced by Deepika Padukone who is also playing a leading lady and is directed by Meghna Gulzar.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to announce his next project. He was last seen in the role of a vertically challenged person in Zero that also starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.
