However, few of his latest releases didn’t enjoy the kind of success that was expected from them, despite being promising. And, one of them is Atrangi Re, starring Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in the lead roles along with Akshay Kumar, who played a brief cameo. Today, on December 24, Atrangi Re has turned a year old, and Aanand L Rai took to his social media handle and celebrated the anniversary.

Talking about his two-picture post, the first image featured him along with Akshay Kumar from the sets of Atrangi Re. The actor-director duo can be seen sharing a warm hug. Meanwhile, he can be seen posing with the lead actors of the film in the second photo. It seems like the trio was posing for a promotional photoshoot as Sara and Dhanush wore Santa Claus caps.

Instagramming the post the director-producer wrote a short caption, which read, “Some memories are unforgettable, remaining ever vivid and heartwarming,” followed by a yellow heart emoticon. He also tagged the verified Insta handles of the above-mentioned actors along with the producers and rest of the team members. Simultaneously, he used a hashtag as well, which is - “1 Year of Atrangi Re”.

A bunch of Instagram users took to the comments section and showered love on the movie. “The best ..rinku and Vishu forever,” wrote a fan while another commented, “Amazing Film Script and A Very Good Casting.” For the unversed, Atrangi Re was released on Disney+ Hotstar. The film received a mixed response from the audience as well as the critics.

Coming to the professional front, the 51-year-old filmmaker’s last production venture was Ayushmann Khurrana’s An Action Hero, which was released on December 2.
