EXCLUSIVE: Pooja Hegde recalls being offered Cirkus, “I never asked about the details because I just wanted to work with Rohit Shetty” : Bollywood News

The full-on entertaining Simmba combo, Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty are now here with Cirkus. The slapstick comedy also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde as the leading ladies. Pooja opened up about the time she was offered the film in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama by recalling how she got a call from the filmmaker and how excited she was about working with him.

Pooja Hegde revealed that she excitedly agreed to do the film without asking any details, just because she got an opportunity of working with Rohit Shetty. She said, “I was at home and I actually missed the call. (Rohit) Sir had called my old number and I had his number saved as ‘Rohit Shetty - the director’. I was like mom Rohit Sir has called me and she asked me to call him back. I was so excited. When I called him, I was so excited.”

She went on to add, “So like every actor, I had a list of directors I wanted to work with and Rohit Sir was there on that list. When he told me, I was shrieking on top of my voice. And my response was ‘Amazing Amazing’. He asked me ‘Dates hai na’? and I was like, “Free kar lenge Sir’. It was only at the end of the conversation when he said, ‘Btw the actor is Ranveer Singh’. I was like ‘wohoo’.”

Furthermore, the actress also asserted that she didn’t care about the details of the film as far as it was a Rohit Shetty film. “I didn't even think of asking him what's the film, what's the script, role kitna hai, nothing. It was just blind faith. You are a fan and you just want to be a part of certain films,” concluded the actress.

Coming to Cirkus, the film features Ranveer Singh in dual roles with Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde playing their love interests. With Varun Sharma also essaying a double role, the film also features Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Murali Sharma, among others and is set against the backdrop of the 60s era of circus. The film released on December 23.
