Sandeep Reddy Vanga talks about Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal; reveals what’s common between Animal and Kabir Singh : Bollywood News

SS Rajamouli was seen promoting his film RRR with director Sandeep Reddy of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh fame. He sat down with him to discuss their filmmaking styles and upcoming films.

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been released today, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the titular roles. Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn will be seen in a cameo role in the film. Sandeep Reddy made his directorial debut Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda which was a super-hit and later a Hindi remake was made titled Kabir Singh which starred Shahid Kapoor.

Rajamouli asked Sandeep about his upcoming film with Ranbir Kapoor titled Animal. The ace filmmaker asked if Animal will also be similar to Kabir Singh, Reddy said, “There's nothing similar between Ranbir's character in Animal and Kabir Singh.”

Rajamouli further asked, "Since you have named the film Animal, it gives a sense that Ranbir's character would be violent. The audience is thinking like this, including me.” To this Reddy replied, “There's violence, but the characters are not the same. I used to ask my ADs if there are shades of Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy in Animal. But no, the plot and characters are different. The only common thread between both films is that they are character-driven stories.”

Animal is a crime-drama film which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in the main roles. The film was announced on January 1, 2021 and fans have been looking forward to it. The film will be released on August 11, 2023.

Whereas Ranbir Kapoor is currently in Varanasi with Alia Bhatt shooting for his last part of Brahmastra.
