Samantha Ruth Prabhu opens up about experiencing ‘spasm’ and ‘cramping’ during Citadel shoot; says, “I really didn’t think that I could complete shooting”

Samantha recalled the challenges she faced while shooting for the action-packed web-series in the middle of her myositis diagnosis.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has showcased her versatility by excelling in a diverse range of roles, from romantic dramas to intense thrillers. While the actress is all set to resume work after her break, as she was a part of the recent announcement of Citadel – Honey Bunny along with Varun Dhawan, the actress also opened up about her experience of working with the team of the highly anticipated web-series amid her myositis diagnosis.

The actress extended her gratitude towards the team of the show including directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, as well as co-star Varun Dhawan. She also revealed that she couldn’t move away from the schedule since it had to be completed on time. Recalling her health condition and the stress to finish the shoot of Citadel - Honey Bunny, Samantha Ruth Prabhu said, “After finishing Khushi (with Vijay Deverakonda), I had to shoot for Citadel which is extremely physical. There is a lot of action involved. My directors are people who believe in single long shot.”

Samantha went on to open up about the challenges she faced during the schedule wherein she added, “It was very strenuous and I was on a lot of medication. I really didn’t think that I could complete shooting all these projects. But now I am so happy that I have. I’m really looking forward to the release of Citadel because it’s just ‘it’ for me. It’s already a victory because I think we know what it meant to actually complete the shoot for that. Many calls were made in the middle of shoot wherein they said, ‘she is having a spasm’, ‘she’s cramping’. So I think it was difficult but I’m very proud".

Citadel – Honey Bunny is the Indian version of the American sci-fi spy drama starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden. The teaser of this upcoming web series was unveiled on March 19 along with the rest of the slate for Prime Video for the year 2024. The premiere date, however, is yet to be unveiled.
