The happenings of the Salman Khan Blackbuck Poaching case in Jodhpur created a furor, courtesy the recent judgement. One of Bollywood’s biggest superstars was convicted, followed by a five-year imprisonment sentence. This further turned the situation chaotic considering that high stakes are riding on Khan’s shoulders. Despite all the issues, the industry came together in support of the actor and some of his friends even visited him in Jodhpur central jail. One amongst them was Preity Zinta.
Readers may be aware that Salman Khan was taken to Jodhpur Central Jail post the judgement on the blackbuck poaching case. Followed by the same, he was visited by his sisters Alvira and Arpita who flew down to Rajasthan last afternoon. Besides the two of them, Salman Khan’s popular co-star Preity Zinta with whom he has shared screen space in more than five films, too visited him in prison. The two, as suggested by recent reports, had a conversation for about half an hour after the actress sought permission to speak to him.
Let us also remind you that a day ago, the Jodhpur court was supposed to hear the bail plea of Salman Khan which was applied by the superstar’s lawyers followed by the judgement. However, despite the fact that the case was deferred to the next day, there were a few arguments that were presented in front of the judge during this sessions’ court hearing.
According to recent reports, the defense counsel Mahesh Bora had apparently presented many loopholes in the investigation. His argument was based on how investigation reports failed to prove that Salman used firearms during the said incident. Bora reportedly also argued about how they have proved in the past that the eyewitness in the case wasn’t reliable.
Not ending at that, the arguments showcased about how the pellets retrieved failed to verify the prosecution’s story. On the other hand, Public Prosecutor Pokar Ram Bishnoi has insisted on going by the earlier track record in this case, documents of which can be collected from the trial court. If reports are to be believed, Bishnoi went on to confirm in the court that the prosecution has been able to prove the crime beyond any doubt with the help of the eyewitness as evidence.
Keeping in mind the arguments made by the defense counsel and prosecution, the sessions court has now sought the records related to the case from the lower court. Due to the same, the hearing was supposed to continue today, that is on April 7. Now news is that the actor has been granted bail.
