As B-town was busy celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi over the weekend, many actors and celebrities have also cautioned their fans to refrain from polluting water bodies with Lord Ganesha idols which are often seen lying in bad conditions after they are immersed during the visarjan. While many celebs in the past have opened up about eco-friendly ganpatis, this time around Riteish Deshmukh gave a glimpse of the way the festival is celebrated at his household, and it seems to have won the heart of many.

Riteish Deshmukh, in a joint social media post along with wife Genelia Deshmukh, revealed that the members of the Deshmukh household not only get together for the festival but also make Ganpati idols by themselves and it is immersed in an extremely environment-friendly way. The video features how the kids along with Riteish created their own Ganesha idols and even painted them, and in the end, on the visarjan day on September 8, decided to immerse them in a tub full of water within their residence itself. Riteish shared this video along with the caption, “Ganpati Bappa Morya!! Deshmukh household ritual of making Eco friendly Ganeshas at home and a respectful visarjan. Kids made their own Bappa and each Bappa was special- Kharach bappa kiti god disto (Truly, the bappa idol is looking so sweet)!!

Along with the actor, many of his other followers also shared similar sentiments. Actress Kriti Sanon appreciated this noble tradition saying, “Sooooooo cute!! Best way of celebrating”. “Absolutely adorable ???? Sweetest way of celebrations” added singer Shreya Ghoshal whereas Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap called it, “Too adorable”. Many fans also dropped heart and clap emojis appreciating the Deshmukh family’s initiative towards an environment and eco-friendly celebrations.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Riteish Deshmukh was recently seen as a pilot in the recently released Sanjay Gupta film Visfot which also marked the return of Fardeen Khan in films. The actor also made his debut in the long-format web-series with Pill which released on JioCinema.
