Popular TV actress Ratan Singh Raajputh became a household name from her stint in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. The show earned her a handful of awards and accolades. However, she barely graced the TV screens for a decade.

For the unversed, Ratan was last seen in the TV show Santoshi Maa, which was telecasted in 2018. Recently, she opened up about the hiatus and what kept her away from the biz. She explained that she had taken a break after her father passed away. She also went on to talk about how she suffered from depression and decided to focus on her well-being for a while.

The 35-year-old actress asserted, “After Santoshi Maa got over in 2018, just a day later, I lost my father and that was a terrible blow for me. I went into depression and did not want to do anything. When you say depression, it does not just mean having mood swings or crying,” in a conversation with Bombay Times.

Elaborating, she said, “There are other things as well. I did not want to take any medication, so I decided to study psychology to understand the subject better, apart from consulting psychologists about my condition. I also started travelling and decided to explore village life. I left Mumbai for a while.”

Concluding, Raajputh added, “I enjoyed sharing videos about my travels and journey of self-exploration.”

Coming to her work, Ratan mentioned, “I did not watch TV or web shows in the past few years even though I had two TV sets at home. Now it is time to get back to work and focus on new beginnings. But my time off made me understand that work is a part of your life, work is not your life.”
