In her post, Preity admitted that the result was not what the team had hoped for at their home ground. However, she quickly reminded fans that there were still many matches left in the tournament and that the side remained in a strong position. She highlighted that Punjab Kings were sitting at the top of the points table halfway through the season, calling it a proud and happy moment for the franchise.

She also praised the performances of the squad, affectionately referring to them as the “Sher Squad.” The actor thanked supporters for standing by the team both inside the stadium and across social media platforms. According to her, the love and encouragement shown by fans had been exceptional throughout the season.

Preity said the team’s main aim was to make IPL 2026 memorable for supporters and repeated the franchise’s spirited message, “Bas Jeetna Hai.”

The post also carried a personal and cultural touch. Preity revealed that the red Phulkari dupatta she wore for the match was a 26-year-old gift from a Punjabi fan who had requested that she wear it during the game. She said it made her happy to carry a part of that fan’s cherished memory with her.

The actor went on to speak about Phulkari, the traditional Punjabi embroidery art form created by local artisans. She described it as beautiful but fading, and expressed hope that wearing such dupattas during cricket matches could help revive awareness around the craft. She added that traditions like these should continue to be celebrated with pride.

Her heartfelt post received warm reactions online, including a comment from actor Celina Jaitly, who wrote that Punjab Kings were the best and sent love to Preity.

Despite the setback in Mullanpur, Punjab Kings remain strongly placed in IPL 2026 and will now look to carry their momentum into the next phase of the tournament.
