National Award-winning actor Prakash Raj has addressed reports claiming that he was dropped from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit due to creative differences. The film, headlined by Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, is currently in production and has been generating steady buzz since its announcement.
Earlier reports had suggested that Prakash Raj, who was initially announced as a key cast member, was removed from the project while the film was already being shot in Hyderabad. According to these claims, issues allegedly arose on set, leading to an unexpected casting change at that stage of production.
However, Prakash Raj has now strongly refuted these reports. Taking to his X handle (formerly Twitter), the actor dismissed the speculation, writing, “To all the toxic #Fakenews peddlers…. On #Spirit the movie. We have not even started shooting for my scenes, and you whatsup factories speculate stories. Grow up and have a life. #justasking.”

The actor further clarified his position in a conversation with Hindustan Times, where he said, “Some nonsense speculations these are. I am not aware of it,” firmly denying that he had exited the film and confirming that he continues to be associated with the project.
Despite Prakash Raj’s denial, rumours around the alleged fallout have continued to circulate. A report by OTT Play claimed that tensions surfaced on the sets of Spirit, with speculation that a heated disagreement took place between the actor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The alleged dispute was reportedly linked to differences over the script and the execution of a particular scene.
The same report also suggested that certain behavioural issues during the shoot may not have gone down well with the production team, further fuelling rumours of a fallout. However, no official statement has been issued by the makers of Spirit regarding these claims.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit marks Prabhas’ first collaboration with the filmmaker and stars Triptii Dimri as the female lead. The film remains in active production, and with conflicting reports doing the rounds, clarity is awaited from the makers regarding the cast and ongoing shoot status.
