Pooja Hegde says working in Radhe Shyam has helped her evolve as an artist : Bollywood News

Actress Pooja Hegde is currently promoting her upcoming film Radhe Shyam in full swing. In the film, the actress plays the character of Prerna love interest of Prabhas’ Vikramaditya. The film marks her first collaboration with the Baahubali star. Ahead of the movie’s theatrical release on March 11, Pooja interacted with the media recently in Mumbai.

Pooja Hegde says working in Radhe Shyam has helped her evolve as an artist

During the group interaction, Pooja was asked who she thinks can have fit into the shoes of her character. To which she replied, "I think more than me, you should ask the director (Radha Krishna Kumar) how it was for him. I lived in Prerna for four years of my life. You gonna see me evolve as an actor in the film. We’ve all worked on different things while this film was being made, but he has stuck to this one project for about five years — four years of getting it together and a year of prep. As for me, I was excited to play Prerna, who has so many shades and complexities. She has a strong presence in the story. In fact, if you watch the film closely, you will realize that I grew up in the process of making this film. I have travelled with this film so much and I have read so many books related to my character and built a back story about her. The backstory which I made in my mind helped me go back to my character even after 2 years of the pandemic. So, I'm very possessive about Prerna and I think when you are gonna watch it, you'll realize that I could only play that part."

She added, "In these four years, the experience of going from one project to another and handling a layered character like Prerna helped me mature as an artist and as a person. There are places in the film where the evolution is evident, and that’s something I am excited to show to the world."
