Deepika Padukone wrapped her film, Chhapaak, and flew to London to begin Kabir Khan directorial, ’83 which stars her husband Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Meanwhile, she flew off to New York for work commitments and made an appearance at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital Youth Anxiety Center dinner.

Deepika Padukone has been open about her struggle with depression and also started Live Laugh Love foundation to help those people who are in need of help. The actress has been raising awareness ever since she came out about her struggle. So, when the opportunity came, she flew to New York for just one night to attend the dinner for the hospital that deals with youth suffering from depression, anxiety among other mental illnesses. There, she met supermodel Kendall Jenner, who happens to be the highest paid model in the business, and who has been very open about her struggle with anxiety.

On Monday night, speaking at the dinner, Deepika Padukone talked about how everything seemed okay for the public eye while she was dealing with depression in her personal life. “That was the hardest part to put on a front every single day like everything is okay in your life when actually that’s far from reality. You’re smiling and bringing joy into other people’s lives when you have none,” she said to Vogue US.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone will return to London for the shooting of ’83 in Glasgow. The actress is playing the role of Romi Bhatia whereas Ranveer Singh is starring as Kapil Dev. Her next release Chhapaak, in which she is starring as an acid attack survivour, is set for January 2020.
