Parineeti Chopra, fresh off her wedding bliss, is diving back into work and fitness with equal fervour. The actress, who wrapped filming Imtiaz Ali's biopic Chamkila before her nuptials, is revealing the surprising lengths she went to for the role.

In a recent Instagram video, Parineeti gave fans a glimpse into her intense gym sessions, contrasting them with her earlier "music and food" routine. She confessed to putting on a whopping 15 kilos to portray Amarjot, wife of the Punjabi singer Chamkila (played by Diljit Dosanjh).

"Six months of singing in Rahman sir's studio and going back home to eat as much junk as I possibly could to put on 15 KILOS for Chamkila!" Parineeti wrote, referencing the upcoming Netflix film.

While her dedication to the role is impressive, Parineeti admits the post-filming transition is far from easy. "Now that the film is done, the story is completely the opposite. I miss the studio, and live in the gym trying to get back to looking like myself again," she shared.

"It's been hard," she confesses about the transformation process. "But anything for you Imtiaz sir! And this role!"

For the unversed, directed by Imtiaz Ali, the upcoming film presents the untold true story of Punjab’s original rockstar of the masses, Amar Singh Chamkila. He rose to the heights of popularity in the 80s due to the sheer power of his music, angering many on the way, which finally led to his assassination at a young age of 27.
