However, while Emraan Hashmi started off winning hearts with his protagonist roles, he did explore grey shades with films like Murder and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. And now his love for such antagonist roles seems to be more visible with the actor embracing darker roles in upcoming films like the Pawan Kalyan starrer OG and the Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3.

Not too long ago, we had reported about Emraan’s recent foray into the South Indian film industry. He will be seen playing the antagonist in OG alongside Pawan Kalyan. It is also known that Hashmi will be seen as the antagonist in Tiger 3. Speaking about his inclination towards such characters, Emraan said, "Delving into the realm of darker characters and the noir genre is like embarking on a journey to explore the uncharted territories of the human psyche.”

Emraan Hashmi reveals, shedding light on his distinctive approach to storytelling that has carved a niche for him in the ever-evolving landscape of Indian cinema. A source close to the actor also explained about Hashmi's gradual transition from romantic roles to darker characters by saying, “With such roles, Hashmi is carving a unique niche for himself in Bollywood and beyond. With films like Gangster, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, and The Dirty Picture, he showcased his acting prowess in complex and morally ambiguous roles. These performances not only proved his versatility but also challenged the traditional notion of a Bollywood hero. Audiences began to appreciate Hashmi's ability to add depth and layers to characters that were far from the conventional hero archetype.”
