Amazon MX Player has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming socio-political thriller Sankalp, marking the streaming debut of veteran actor Nana Patekar. Directed and produced by National Award–winning filmmaker Prakash Jha, the series will stream for free starting March 11 on the platform.
Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande along with Dishaa Jhaa under the banner of PJP Films Productions, Sankalp takes inspiration from the ancient Chanakya–Chandragupta chronicles while reimagining political strategy in a contemporary Indian setting. Headlined by Nana Patekar, the series also features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Kapoor, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Neeraj Kabi, Kubbra Sait and Kranti Prakash Jha in pivotal roles.
The trailer introduces viewers to a tense and layered narrative shaped by three driving forces — Sanskaar, Satta and Samarpan. At the centre of the story is Ma’at Saab, an influential educator whose authority is built on values, loyalty and unwavering devotion. As the trailer unfolds, it hints at an intense power struggle between mentor and mentee, exploring the moral complexities of ambition and the fine line between guidance and control.
Speaking about his OTT debut, Nana Patekar shared, “Playing Ma’at saab has been a huge learning and it led me to explore a new dimension. It’s a character layered with silence, conflict and consequences. Working again with Prakash Jha is always special because he tells stories that don’t spell everything out. They mirror the world as it is, and they stay with you. Lastly, this project becomes extra special as I mark my debut in the OTT world with Amazon MX Player and can’t wait for audiences to experience the world of Sankalp.”

Sankalp will stream for free from March 11 exclusively on Amazon MX Player, and will be available across the platform’s mobile app, Amazon’s shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV and connected TV devices.
