Filmmaker Nag Ashwin and actor Imran Khan have shared their reactions to Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, adding to the growing buzz around the film currently running in theatres. Starring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap, the film blends action with an emotional narrative.
After watching the film, Nag Ashwin spoke about its impact on audiences, particularly during key moments. He said, “The interval, last half an hour of the film, as if it was my film, I was watching everyone’s reaction. I was seeing how it was and everyone was like silent and dabbing their tears.” He further added, “Full summer is open for you guys and it is going to be a big summer blockbuster and there is no way you are going to leave the theatre without a heavy heart, without having felt like you watched something special and you don’t get that feeling very often in the movies.”
Actor Imran Khan also expressed his appreciation for the film and its cast. In a social media post, he wrote, “Congratulations to team Dacoit. @adivisesh is charming, smoldering and heartbreakingly vulnerable in a film that is refreshingly free of toxic tropes.” Praising the performances further, he added, “@mrunalthakur ranges beautifully from maternal tenderness to raw, emotional grit. @atulkulkarni_offocial & @joinprakashraj wonderful as always.”
Highlighting a personal connection, Imran mentioned, “But for me the top star is my darling @zaynmaarie watching you on the big screen made this big brother very proud.”
Marking the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo, the film is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, with presentation by Annapurna Studios. Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha continues to draw attention for its storytelling and performances as it runs in cinemas.
