Mrunal Thakur doesn’t want to get boxed into a cliché in the industry after TV career: “I took it on myself to explore diverse roles” : Bollywood News

One can’t box Mrunal Thakur into a cliché. She is doing it all – television, movies, digital shows and fashion campaigns. When she is not working in Hindi films, she has many opportunities down South or Marathi films and if that isn’t the case, she is opting for OTT content. However, Mrunal thinks this phase in her career has been ‘unpredictable’ and ‘beautiful’.

Though she has faced her fair share of hurdles in her career, Mrunal Thakur told Indian Express that she is proud of her journey. She said, “But I have to say one thing, this journey has been on my own and I’m very proud of it.”

Initially, Mrunal had to work her way up in the film industry and break the ‘TV’ actor stereotype. She said, “However, there were filmmakers like Tabrez Noorani who took a chance on me, so I am grateful to all the filmmakers who take a chance with actors from television, and have that faith.”

She added, “I wanted to make sure that I don’t get boxed into a cliché. I didn’t want to get type-casted, so I took it on myself to explore diverse roles in films, OTT platforms, Marathi cinema, feature films, and even Telugu movies.”

Expressing her gratitude towards this phase of her career, she said, “It is a beautiful chapter in my life, as this is something that I craved for the longest time — to be able to go to work, to able to do what I love doing.”

Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur has an array of projects. She is currently promoting her Telugu movie Hi Nanna with Nani which is releasing on December 7, 2023. She is set for another Telugu movie Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda. She also has Pooja Meri Jaan with Huma Qureshi.
