Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher launch fundraiser to support her native Ukraine amid Russian invasion; pledge to match up to $3 million worth of donations

Hollywood actors Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have extended support to the Ukrainian refugees fleeing the country amid the ongoing crisis following Russian invasion. The couple launched a fundraiser to help those impacted by the current unrest in Ukraine which also happens to be Mila Kunis’ native country.

In a video statement shared by Ashton Kutcher on his Instagram on Thursday (March 3), the couple addressed the ongoing crisis and promised to match up to $3 million in donations. "I have always considered myself an American, a proud American. I love everything that this country has done for myself and my family, but today I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian," Mila Kunis says in the video beginning her plea to help her native country. "And I've never been more proud to be married to a Ukrainian," Kutcher replied.

The couple then discussed the actions they are taking to support Ukrainian refugees and wrote in the post's caption, "While we are witnessing the bravery of Ukrainians, we are also bearing witness to the unimaginable burden of those who have chosen safety."

"Through GoFundMe, this fundraiser will provide an immediate impact on refugee and humanitarian aid efforts. The fund will benefit Flexport.org and Airbnb.org, two organizations who are actively on the ground providing immediate help to those who need it most," the caption continued. "Flexport.org is organizing shipments of relief supplies to refugee sites in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova. Airbnb.org is providing free, short-term housing to refugees fleeing Ukraine. Standing with Ukraine means supporting Ukrainians."

"We're raising funds to support a relief effort that will have immediate impact and supply much-needed refugee and humanitarian aid to the area," the Two and a Half Men alum says, emphasizing that they're focusing on getting housing, supplies, and resources to those in need. The pair has partnered with Flexport.org and AirBnB.org to set up the Stand with Ukraine GoFundMe to provide aid to the war-torn country.

"Ashton and I have decided to match up to $3 million worth of donations to Airbnb.org and Flexport.org through GoFundMe.org in an effort to raise $30 million," Kunis mentioned in the video. As reported by People tabloid, Kunis and Kutcher's GoFundMe has raised over $2,600,000, as of Thursday afternoon.

Concluding the video statement, Mila Kunis says, "The people of Ukraine are strong and brave, but being strong and brave doesn't mean you're not worthy of support. We need to support the people of Ukraine. Please help us."
