The Met Gala, referred to as the fashion world’s Oscar Night, usually falls on the first Monday of May. But after a year off because of the pandemic, the star-studded night returns on the second Monday of September in 2021 as an even more exclusive affair than before. The theme for the Met this year was- In America: A Lexicon of Fashion. It is fairly an Oscar de La Renta gala with most ladies strutting in big couture gowns. The star-studded event made heads turn with over-the-top looks for A-Listers from around the world. Let’s take a look at the best-dressed attendees this year-
ANNA WINTOUR
Anna Wintour who is an honorary and co-chairs the event this year showed up dressed in a gorgeous, floral printed tiered dress from Oscar de la Renta. The dress featured a plunging neck with ruffles and tiered ruffles on the bottom. She kept the styling simple with an embellished neckpiece and her signature hair cut with a heavy fringe.

TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET
Timothée Chalamet turned up looking just like the charmer he is. He showed up wearing pieces from several designers which include pants from Rick Owens with a jacket from Haider Ackerman. He completed the look with trusty and basic white hi-top converse sneakers. He kept his look monotone in all white, except the black collar detail on a double-breasted jacket.

DAN LEVY
Dan Levy made quite a colourful appearance in a bold and sparkly Loewe collection. He styled balloon pants with the print of a map and sparkles which he paired with a shirt and heavily poofed up sleeves with tie-up and a minimalist collar. LIL NAS X
Well, Lil Nas X pulled quite a Lady Gaga at the Met and went crazy with 3 outfit changes and each one getting wilder than the other. For the first one, he chose a dull gold trailing cape with a high collar and heavy work around the neckline reading the hem which portrays regality. The cape then sheds and shows the next look, he chose futuristic gold and went for a metallic, robotic look with power shoulder, knee pads, and a Medusa-like armour styled dream in pure, bright gold. This armour showcases holding a strong front as a Black Queer individual. For the last look, he went for a heavily embellished black and gold bodysuit. He wore the collared, v neck with flared pants, full-sleeved arms, and loafers to complete the look. This look signifies the importance of embracing your true self. All three looks are from Versace.
