“Meri ek film nahin chalti toh itna hungama hota hai ki kharab film banayi,” Anees Bazmee : Bollywood News

Anees Bazmee’s recent movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has won over the box office and also audience’s hearts. The film was a massive hit, crossing Rs 100 Crores in earnings in merely a few weeks of its release.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama Anees Bazmee spoke about how chaotic it becomes if his movies do not work out, “Meri Ek Film Nahi Chalti Toh Itna Hungama Hota Hai Ki Anees Ne Kharab Film Bnayi.” He said, “When they (other filmmakers) fail at making a film, the audiences forgive them, but it is not the same for me. It happens often, if the film works out, I receive a lot of love and appreciation but when they don’t, I receive a ton of backlash from the audiences. But I have reached a point in my life where I don't let the backlash or even the appreciation get to my head. When a film doesn't work out, I feel bad for the producers because I think it is my job and my responsibility as a director to make a good film. But on the very next day I get back up again because I don't live in flashbacks.”

Bazmee spoke about how he is always ready for tomorrow, preparing for other new films. “I only think about getting ready for tomorrow. I have contributed as a writer-director in almost 60 to 70 films, but I hardly remember any scenes or any dialogues of the films. I did not watch those films again. It was nothing but an intentional and conscious effort to avoid repeating my work. If people come to me to appreciate my work, I accept their regards, but I always try to alter the topic of conversation. I worked hard at a film, it went well, but it has passed. I always focus on what I am going to do tomorrow. I always talk about the future.”

Anees Bazmee writer-director has been winning hearts for three decades with his films like No Entry, Welcome, Singh Is Kinng, and Ready. He is also the man behind writing for films such as Shola Aur Shabnam and Bol Radha Bol. Bazmee is most popular for his comedy films and that are often the top grossers at the box office.
