As the Lok Sabha Elections are in full swing, and in the latest news, actor Sunny Deol is all set to file nomination from Gurdaspur constituency. Late actor Vinod Khanna’s wife was earlier associated with this constituency but now, Deol has taken over the mantle as he received a ticket from the Bhartiya Janata Party.
He visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to kickstart his political journey. It is reported that his father, veteran actor Dharmendra and actor-brother Bobby Deol are likely to be present during the filing. Deol will also be accompanied by Kavita Khanna, wife of former Gurdaspur MP late Vinod Khanna, and Union Minister Jitendra Singh.
Narendra Modi took to Twitter recently to welcome Deol into his political party. He said, “What struck me about @iamsunnydeol is his humility and deep passion for a better India. Happy to have met him today. We are all rooting for his victory in Gurdaspur! We both agree- हिन्दुस्तान जिंदाबाद था, है, और रहेगा!”
