The five days of fashion extravaganza, Lakme Fashion Week 2019 Summer/Resort concluded on a high note tonight. Closing this edition was the Delhi based designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra. Glamazon Kareena Kapoor Khan had everyone gawking in wide amazement as she closed the finale of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort collection with her signature chutzpah and a glamorous creation by the Delhi based fashion designers, Shantanu and Nikhil.

The designer duo’s latest couture collection ‘Recruit’ highlighted the evolution of the millennial Indian woman who has broken through society’s redundant notions of gender binaries. The line was a heady mix of avant-garde silhouettes with structured shoulders and exaggerated drapes in vibrant shades of black, gold and red, with the accessories seeing a mix of medallions, silk tassels and gold embroidery.

As the models sashayed wearing voluminous skirts layered with dramatic mesh and oversized capes, their looks were further elevated by a strong accessory mix of medallions, silk tassels and gold embroidery. The collection's theme resonated with Kareena's persona to the T - the newsmaker of our times who painstakingly shattered stereotypes and championed the cause of the working mother all through her pregnancy with Taimur Ali Khan and walking the ramp thereafter, lending everyone those fitter and fabulous life goals. The gown featuring a fitted bodice with bold belt detailing and a sheer stripe detailing along the sides on the skirt.

With her hair pulled back slick and sleek, she flaunted nude makeup accentuated by bold lips and intense eyes that further notched up the glamorous vibe.

On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen in Good News starring Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh which is scheduled to go on floor in December. She will also be seen in Takht – period drama by Karan Johar boasting of an impressive star cast featuring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
